Junior Programmer Analyst

Our prestigious health care client in Baltimore is looking to add an IT Specialist to their growing team! The person in this role will be responsible for providing support to internal users through phone calls, emails and website inquiries. You will also be involved with processing payroll, troubleshooting any issues that may arise with the time clock system, general application questions and badge issues. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt service and support to internal users related to payroll, time, scheduling, staffing and device support

  • Act as  a point of contact and for all staff; providing support and communication while issues are being resolved

  • Research and identify solutions for internal user problems and questions

  • Under guidance of the Support Desktop Administrator; maintain documentation by writing audience-appropriate materials to serve as technical and/or end-user references

  • Compile weekly reports for the finance team on customer support activity

  • Assist in gathering system requirements by meeting with clients and researching existing technology to understand the business requirements for new applications

  • Assist in the development of detailed tasks by analyzing project scope and milestones for projects in order to ensure product is delivered in a timely fashion according to software lifecycle standards

  • Write functional/technical specifications by taking the provided system requirements, putting them into functional and technical descriptions for use by programmers and business analysts to develop technical solutions

  • Document code and associated processes by adhering to development methodologies; make adjustments as necessary to streamline support

  • Create and document test scenarios using the appropriate testing tools to validate and verify application functionality

  • Test all changes by using the appropriate test scenarios to ensure all delivered solutions work as expected and errors are handling in a meaningful way

  • Adhere to all change management policies and procedures for any given project to communicate to all parties the nature, significance, and risk factors of the solution

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • At least one year of related work experience with computer systems and applications

  • Experience with Kronos or similar software is a plus

  • Must demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and excellent communication skills

  • Must demonstrate critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills

  • Ability to work on multiple priorities effectively, prioritize conflicting demands and execute assigned project tasks on time
