Salary Range: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 +sign-on bonus

Greylocke & Company has been supporting a well-known medical system’s not-for-profit research arm, who conducts upwards of 400 protocols, for nearly a decade, and they have just requested support identifying professionals for Director – Office Research Integrity.  The Director will be focused on the AAHRPP accreditation process, as well as overall responsible for staff management, all day-to-day duties, including the Human Research Protection Programs.  This is an operations-focused role, so current/recent staff management responsibilities is mandatory.


Specifically, the Director – Office Research Integrity will provide supervisory oversight related to day-to-day operations of the review of all regulatory submissions as well as be responsible for ensuring that all ORI staff assists assigned client’s submissions submitted through the ORI for review.  The Director – Office of Research Integrity will also develop training and lead performance evaluations for all ORI staff, and as necessary for senior level initiatives, address investigator or leadership concerns raised with staff to provide feedback and performance evaluations.


The Director will serve as an ORI faculty member for continuing education in research ethics, regulatory compliance, and IRB operations for ORI community constituents. The incumbent will also have responsibility for the quality improvement, quality assurance, and quality controls for all ORI policies, procedural norms, and standard operating procedures.


Additional duties will include: 1) primary responsibility for implementing the strategic direction of ORI workflow and coordination of ORI resources to meet regulatory committee metrics as established by the Director of ORI; 2) ensuring ORI meets requirements for the appropriate maintenance of requirements for maintaining IRB records and availability for inspection, including quality control for database entries and document files for submissions; and 3) applying expert knowledge in the application of federal regulations for the protection of human research subjects, animal care and use, biosafety principles; facilitates the formulation, interpretation and publication of policies and regulations.


The regulatory committees of the Department include the Institutional Review Boards (IRBs), the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), the Conflict of Interest Committee (COI) and the Research Integrity Function (RIO).



In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess:


  • Bachelor’s Degree AND either a CIP or Master’s degree


  • At least 7 years’ research administration experience, including detailed knowledge and performance within IRB, IBC and IACUC.


  • Thorough understanding of the Revised Common Rule.


  • Minimum 5 years of supervision and management of staff.
