The Company:
Our client is engaged in petroleum refining and nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing industries.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
·         The Senior Application Developer role requires someone with a good understanding of technical and functional application design. Ideally understanding the complexity of ERP/Oracle/SAP systems and standalone systems.
·         Must have a diverse coding background and business analyst mindset.
·         You work with other team members (development and support) in driving appropriate design development and implementation of technical solutions to meet desired business requirements.
·         The position will oversee SDLC simultaneously and supervises the activities of other Application Developers or Vendors on projects. 
·         You will design systems, develop software, evaluate code, and modify specifications throughout the production life cycle in accordance with the business goals and organizational architectural standards. 
·         Provides expertise on the integration of systems across the Application Portfolio.
·         Have a good teamwork attitude and willing to assist other team members on troubleshooting efforts.
·         Clear concise communication
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
·         High school diploma or equivalent required
·         Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or other related scientific or technical discipline required or may substitute an equivalent combination of professional certifications demonstrating technical proficiency, education and experience.
                                                                                                                   
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
·         7+ years of development experience with large operational systems such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Maximo, etc.;
·         5+ years of hands on development experience with .NET frameworks versions 2.0. 3.5 and 4.0;  C# and ASP.NET, and Microsoft SQL Servers;  web technologies or any other types of programming with degree or 10+ years of experience without degree.
·         3+ years of hand on experience with SOA architecture – architecting and writing Web Service calls (Tibco, Oracle, IBM), preferred
·         Experience leading and mentoring Application Development team.
·         Intermediate to advanced database skills using SQL Server  (includes design and scripting of tables, stored procedures, etc. using Visual Studio and SSMS).
·         Practical experience creating SQL Server Integration Services packages (SSIS ETL development using BIDS 2005/2008). 
·         Practical experience with Windows Console App Development in C# (ETL development using Visual Studio 2010 .NET 4.0).
·         Practical experience with ASP.NET Web Forms Development in C# (Intranet site development using Visual Studio 2010 .NET 4.0).   Experience with web services, Business Objects (Crystal Reports), Silverlight, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and HTML5 are helpful.
·         Experience writing DOS batch scripts used to automate tasks.
·         Basic server admin skills related to application development (configure IIS, set up Scheduled Tasks, shared folders, etc.).
·         Experience creating process flows with Visio and writing technical documentation.
·         Experience working with QA, Controls teams and application deployment teams to move applications into production.
·         Ability to articulate ideas to all levels of management and technical staff.  Must be comfortable communicating with senior levels of management of the company.
·         Experience leading application support and maintenance production support activities. 
·         Displays disciplines in incident management, problem management, change management and service requests and the resulting documentation.
·         Understands complex applications functionality, triage issues and finally identifies and documents resulting resolutions and displaying competent problem solving skills.
·         Exposure to architecture development methods (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.), preferred.
·         Displays ability to partner with leadership team, peers, vendors, and subordinates to develop and enhance reporting capabilities in order to provide a suite of reports/dashboards ensuring customer needs are met.
·         Experience in the Oil & Gas industry considered a plus.
·         Fluent in English, oral and written required.
·         Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.
 
 
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
·         Collaborates with project managers, business analysts, users and other developers in conceptualization and development of new technical requirements within an application’s environment by analyzing and assessing existing procedures allowing the application to respond to business changes.
·         Evaluates requirements from functional specifications and ensure efficient technical designs are documented and completed.
·         Develops complex technical objects in accordance with the technical development standards and best practices.
·         Mitigates significant risks associated with projects which have a high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business.
·         Manages the service requests and technical support functions.
·         Design, develop, deploy, test and maintain technical objects that exist in project applications production environment e.g. reports, interfaces, conversions and custom application extensions.
·         Manages and assists in the customer support process for business critical application problems and issues while assisting with testing and deployment of release update.
·         Manages the service requests with vendor support as needed.
·         Partners with project managers, business analysts and end users to successful complete projects prior to deadline.
·         Conducts research into new technologies including tools, components and frameworks ultimately making presentations to the management team and peer groups as requested.
·         Coordinates work efforts with the DBA and middleware teams for application change controls and system performance issues.
·         Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.  This includes:  Interviewing, hiring and training, planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
·         Coordinate with Project Manager and Business Analyst to elicit and document clear and realistic business requirements.
·         Lead the translation of business requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications.
·         Exhibit the ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.

·         Ensure consistently accurate technical designs and levels-of-effort in a complex, changing environment.
·         Keep current with new and emerging technology related to area of responsibility; participates in continuing education related to the position.
·         Contribute to the Application Portfolio and Application Schematics.
·         Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
