12 Month Contract position in Richland, WA

Job Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to):
• Electrical Physical (and circuit and raceway).
• Designer responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit and aboveground raceway design for HLW/LAW/BOF/LAB design.
• Works under the direction of more senior engineers/designers.
• Responsible to produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of lighting, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
• Must have proven 2D and 3D CADD skills.
• Must have experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program, and be able to input and complete corrections to the data base.
• Responsibilities also include ensuring that the electrical systems design comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations and standards. May interface with Construction and Subcontractors.
• know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft WINDOWS suite of programs.

Basic Qualifications:
• AA/AS with 8 years of related electrical design experience; or Bachelors degree with six years of related electrical design experience or in lieu of BS degree twelve years related electrical design experience.
• Hands-on use or working knowledge of using industry wide electrical design/drafting tools, such as CAD 2D, cable designing and routing software and 3D electrical model design platform.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Hands-on schematics and electrical equipment layouts.
• Hands-on Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
• Excellent oral & written communications skills.
• Ability to cope with conflicting deadline, frequent interruptions and multiple tasks.
• Must know how to use computer programs such as the Microsoft WINDOWS suite of programs.
• Must be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using industry proven concepts, and procedures.
• Must be able to effectively communicate and work well with other disciplines and groups within a team environment.
• Possess the legal right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on use or knowledge using a 3D electrical model design platform.
• Hands-on experience with SETROUTE program and be able to input and complete corrections in the data base.
DOD or DOE project experience.
