Consulting has service offerings in Technology Advisory Services, Integrated Business Systems, Data & Advanced Analytics, Digital & Productivity Solutions and Technology Managed services, and support a host of functional industries. With this organizations growth in consulting, there is a heightened need for leadership talent. Given some of the succession planning as well as the need to scale the business, this organization requires a Practice Leader, Data & Advanced Analytics. The role will be based in the Western Canada albeit with national requirements. The Data & Advanced Analytics Practice includes a number of service offerings in Business Intelligence, Financial Planning & Analysis, Custom Reporting, Master Data Management and Systems Integration.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The Practice Leader, Data & Advanced Analytics is part of the leadership of the Consulting team within the organization. This role will report into the Partner, Consulting Group. This is a senior role that will include leading and building the Practice and continuing the development of the custom build services, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI) and overall development of large systems and integration. The current focus for continued growth is on data strategy and predictive analytics including the ability to help support private enterprises to drive better data decision making.
The Practice Leader will leverage the skill set in this existing practice, which includes strategy and roadmap expertise, solution architects, data governance, data management and data quality, machine learning capabilities as well as robotics and automation. This role will continue developing and building out these areas for further growth. It is anticipated the individual will be managing a revenue base of $2M to $3M with the ability to grow new net business revenue streams.
This individual will be involved in all aspects of practice development and leadership of various client initiatives across a host of industries. This is a leadership role that requires strategic leadership combined with project management delivery on the behalf of multiple clients. The role will take on the full scale of practice leadership responsibilities, alongside a team to help support the deliverables from acquiring new business, to the analysis and design phase, through to the full implementation and support of all client deployments. He/she will play a very active role in ascertaining and developing talent, provide coaching and development of other members of the Consulting Technology Data & Advanced Analytics team. He or she will be an integral part of the leadership of the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build external & internal relationships and grow the Practice. Engage directly in strategic client opportunities. Work in concert with the Business Development Managers and Industry Partner/Leads to advance and close prospective client opportunities.
• Define strategy, objectives and tactics for the Technology Practice. Define and document the quarterly, annual and three-year plans for the specific technology as a complement to the larger Consulting Practice.
• Identify and prioritize account level value creation opportunities based on assessment activities and an understanding of high-level client visions, performance gaps and needs.
• Translate and convey client business needs into tangible business solution architecture.
• Project manage consulting services being rendered against specified targets. Shape and lead programs that translate results from business diagnosis and planning into transformation/projects. Personally, deliver billable front-end engagements with clients to drive additional revenue and significantly increase the probability of securing additional engagements.
• Align Technology Practice with the larger Consulting portfolio. Continually refine the approach utilized by the Technology Practice to ensure compatibility and consistency with the overall objectives of the Practice.
• Build and manage practice competency accordingly to achieve objectives. Develop and retain the human and technology assets required to deliver against the specific targets and objectives defined for the Practice.

PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT
• Proactively manage the administrative and business deliverables relevant to the local offices.
• Actively participate in people development as well as the recruitment process.
• Provide consistent people and project management. Provide recognition and support to team members.
• Actively involved in business development activities.
• Actively involved in the overall Solutions leadership team in Canada.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a blend of expertise outlined in the candidate profile and will include all, or a good portion, of the following:
• Senior level management consulting leadership experience with direct experience managing and implementing mid to larger development projects. Expertise should include technology solutions areas related to data science and strategy, solutions architecture, machine learning capabilities, predictive analytics and artificial intelligence. Other analogous technology solutions and implementation services experience will also be of interest, including digital and productivity solutions. We are seeking a dynamic strategic business and people leader with project management delivery capabilities.
• Overall consulting practice leadership in terms of managing metrics, business development, talent recruitment and successful service delivery as related to client needs.
• Must be a recognized leader with eminence in his or her field of expertise.
• Will have managed a P&L related to a practice that is involved with software development and large systems development initiatives related to advanced data analytics.
• Experience will have been gained within professional consulting or related advisory and professional services environments, or specialty advanced data analytics, AI and machine learning firms.
• Must have gained significant experience in building a data analytics practice and have a strong contact network base along with relevant practice management and sales experience. Must have a minimum ten years of experience in various leadership roles. Individuals who have been part of cloud and related managed services practices that have evolved in more data centric businesses with AI and machine learning business will be deemed of strong interest.
• Strong Canadian market knowledge and familiar with the evolution of changes in the market landscape related to the continued development of advanced data analytics in areas such as AI and data strategy across private enterprises in various sectors. Deep product knowledge across various platforms and solutions.
• Should have managed a technology consulting practice in a corporation or a partnership. We are interested in both individuals ready for partnership or currently in a partnership.
• Will have experience building a practice as well as developing and retaining top talent to support all of the project initiatives.
• Must exhibit leadership and collaborative traits to function in a highly developed professional services partnership.
• University Degree, preferably in Business or Technology, is desired.

• Leadership capabilities and ability to lead within and partner with clients at C-Suite and significant levels.
• Results-oriented; strong work ethic with a high level of confidence and staying power. Strong progressive people management experience paired with strong project management abilities.
• Motivated to build the Advanced Data Analytics Practice in Canada and continue to expand this knowledge base across a host of client environments and industry sectors. A proven ability to help lead and scale a consulting business.
• Breadth and depth of technology knowledge. An applicable degree of granularity within the practice lead’s specific technology focus of advanced data analytics and how these technology solutions complement the entire organizations Consulting technology portfolio.
• Documented track record of success. A verifiable history of consistently achieving strategic, operational and financial objectives that complements the organization’s strategic focus.
• Display consistency in collaboration. A proven willingness and ability to engage team members at all levels within the practice to ensure that the most efficient and effective solution achieves
consensus.
• Actions driven by team-centric mentality. While accountable for their own individual performance, a practice leader ultimately supports the decision and/or direction that is in the best interest of the entire practice.
• Regularly leverages key leadership traits. Consistently deploys critical leadership skills (i.e. Visioning, decision making, communication, etc.) Within all internal and external engagements.
• Excellent communication and interpretive skills. Communicating with clients and interpreting their needs is of the upmost importance.
• Outgoing personality paired with strong relationship skills.
• A committed team player at the practice and staff level. The success of each project depends on the combined efforts of the implementation team.
• Ability to work under pressure from both clients and internal team member’s management perspective.


• Self-motivated.
• Be willing to travel upwards of 25% nationally across Canada.
