Job summary

The Client Services Manager (CSM) will focus on establishing and building new client relationships, while leveraging and serving the existing client database by providing the high-end service and client services relationships that clients of The Salem Group expect.

Summary of essential job duties and responsibilities

§ Meet and/or exceed Salem-established budgeted hour and Gross Profit objectives.

§ Possess exceptional prospecting (hunting), qualifying and closing skills in order to achieve objectives

§ Generate and close new business opportunities in order to establish strong new client relationships.

§ Follow a targeted sales strategy including cold phone calls, in-person cold calls, emails, and scheduled visits on a regular, pre-planned schedule, based upon the target level of the account following the 26-week Planner.

§ Must be able to create and maintain updated log of prospects and stages in the sales pipeline using Salem software

§ Manage existing client relationships while providing the high-end service and results they expect within an assigned geographic territory.

§ Devise and implement a targeted sales strategy with the Director of Client Services (DCS) or other sales manager.

§ Master all of The Salem Group’s sales materials and best practices information. Outside (home) study may (will) be required.

§ Be adept at presenting all programs and services offered by The Salem Group.

§ Preparation and delivery of high-quality professional business presentations.

§ Develop and maintain professional client relationships with appropriate key client personnel (specifically decision makers) at leading businesses within your geographic territory.

§ Developing an understanding of your clients’ business objectives and developing value-added, customized solutions to meet their needs.

§ Submits Weekly Sales Activity Reports and other reports as Corporate or the DCS require.

§ Embrace and follow established best practices; including, but not limited to, time management.

§ Be involved in the research and preparation of RFP responses.

§ Facilitate phone and written communication between vendors, clients, and staff members.

§ Must have the ability to manage various selling cycles from immediate to long term with skill and focus including building inter departmental relationships at customers locations

§ Must have the ability and track record of acquiring high quality, long term clients to support territory growth

§ Must be able to clearly communicate front line conditions and customer issues to appropriate manager

§ Must be trainable and coachable in order to insure personal and sales career development

§ Must have an excellent track record of achieving deadlines on time and possess skills to manage time, territory and multiple projects

§ Should have the ability of analyzing latest marketing trends and tracking competitor’s activities and providing valuable inputs for fine tuning sales & marketing strategies; initiating market development efforts.

§ Ability to negotiate appropriate pricing/mark up and adjustment decisions within established guidelines

Minimum requirements

§ 2+ years of proven B2B sales experience.

§ Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma + equivalent work experience.

§ Self-starter with an internal drive, natural curiosity, and exceptional people skills.

§ Extensive knowledge and record of implementation of consultative selling techniques.

§ Confidence to sell clients from all walks of life, from junior to C-level executives.

§ Ability to create a “WOW” experience from a cold call through service delivery. (Should be memorable…..vs. WOW)

§ Must demonstrate sound business judgment and decision-making skills.

§ Should have prior experience in conceptual/service sales.

§ Ability and track record of selling and acquiring new business opportunities in a highly competitive market with sales cycles of 3-12 months.

§ Strong presentation skills.

§ Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).

§ Professional demeanor and appearance.

§ Positive, “can-do” attitude.
