Project: Windows 7 project. Implementing it across the US

Candidates must have network change (release management) experience with technologies such as LAN, WAN, Routers/Switches, Firewall, circuit vendor coordination, cut-overs and engineering planning.
Client uses the Release Management title, but this role is mostly coordination and project management of the technologies referenced above.

Essentially looking for a PM, typical PM skills are required. The RM position is a scaled down PM position. The individual will be expected to run an average of 14 network technology projects of all scopes from small scale (10 hr a week) to large scale 25+ hr a week. They will be required to work nights and weekends.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Technology and Industry Research
• Contributes expert knowledge and associated experience to technical teams to ensure strategies and standards adherence in network designs for projects
• Develops expert short and long term strategies as related to the delivery of Network Services Project Releases.
• Socializes standards and strategies to projects, providing expert knowledge and counsel for the purpose of communicating direction, to obtain approval or concurrence
• Technologies include LAN, WAN, Routers/Switches, Firewall (Juniper), circuit vendor coordination, cut-overs, engineering planning, phone systems, contact centers, facility build outs, etc.

2. Technology and Business Delivery
• Leads and supports preparation of, and reviews medium and high-level technical designs of strategic importance on behalf of Enterprise Infrastructure, optimum technology solutions based on thorough requirements gathering, incorporating complex facts or ideas, appropriate standards, techniques and security measures
• Participates and/or leads various projects of high complexity and risk, release planning of projects with an expert awareness of industry trends, products and services offered to ensure LoB requirements, timelines and business plans are attained
• As assigned, functions as the primary Network Services contact on various projects and assignments to support and meet release deliverables

3. Team Leadership
• Provides experienced leadership and technical guidance in the development of new technology solutions and designs for the delivery of network releases to support project plans in order to meet business goals
• Conducts expert level network release implementation planning activities for initiatives in order to support and meet overall program deliverables and objectives
• Motivates team members, establish priorities, and set project direction incorporating expert project release management disciplines in the initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and completion phases of assigned projects
• Leads multiple projects with a high degree of complexity as a team leader in order to ensure successful delivery of project release deliverables in support of LOB and Network Services business goals

4. Client and Relationship Management
• Collaborates and interacts with internal and external groups, business units, and suppliers at an expert level to achieve understanding and development of strategic and tactical direction for Network Services in the delivery of business and EI projects.

5. Risk Management and Control
• Ensures COE compliance to existing client technology standards
• Ensures Regulatory, Audit and Information Security policies and requirements and best practices are adhered to and delivered.
• Understands and follows security processes.

6. Change and Innovation
• Reviews and recommends significant and impacting improvements to processes and procedures, cost analysis, documentation maintenance in support of the business unit and projects.
• Chairs or participates in technical forums to determine and/or provide requirements for new and existing network impacting project releases and designs

AUTHORITIES

To deliver on these accountabilities, the incumbent must have the following authorities:

• Financial -This job has the authority to recommend for approval detailed spending of capital and NIX funds in the context of Network Services for projects. Has authority to recommend for approval quality deals that support the client's network position and strategic direction.

• Managerial - The job has administrative authority to assign tasks to unit staff within the existing framework as delegated by unit manager. Identifies resources and initiates the flow of work and engages other network unit’s involvement in network project undertakings. Expertly directs or influences others, and ensures significant project issues and challenges are resolved in a timely manner following the documented release plan.

• Information Access - The job has authority to access and utilize confidential business unit and supplier financial information in the analysis of requirements, design and project release planning.

• Recommend - This job has the authority to stop an initiative because it does not meet network technology standards, network security standards, network release standards, or could lead to significant network down time.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

This job requires the incumbent to interact with the following processes and/or groups:

• Service - This job has the authority to ask for product knowledge information from within and external to the EI, TD and the LoB in the release delivery of network contribution to projects.

• Project - Provides leadership and has the authority to engage Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Management and other E.I Operations groups.

Financial Industry Experience will be highly preferred. Candidates must be self-sufficient.
Significant night/weekend experience may be required. Project work will take place in both downtown Chicago and Naperville/Lisle location.
