The Data Analyst is responsible for facilitating, assisting, designing and/or performing data management and analytical programming tasks in support of the Client, including extracting, compiling, organizing, analyzing, validating and reporting healthcare data from disparate sources to aid Client in effectively delivering optimal healthcare transformation services and accomplishing its programs, mission, vision and cornerstones.

Reporting to the Vice President of Administrative Services, the Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and validating data sets in multiple formats and form factors with the ability to transform and manipulate that data to perform insightful analysis and assist Client in identifying opportunities for improvement. He/she will work collaboratively with a team of other data analysts to leverage and analyze data to identify issues and enhance and improve processes, systems, functions and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities include:

• Ethically, scientifically and accurately carrying out data management and analytical duties that support various private and public healthcare delivery system performance programs and initiatives
• Providing technical or statistical consultation and support to CLIENT staff and program participants for the analysis and understanding of program data, reports and performance measures
• Depicting analytical results, via charts, graphs, tables, etc., in ways that are easily understood and presentable for government, hospital and public reports in accordance with CLIENT needs and standards
• Assisting with the dissemination of quality measurement and health service research findings through preparation of materials for group presentations, conferences, trainings and publications
• Examining and verifying program data, resolving discrepancies between expected and actual results
• Establishing and contributing to the development of designs, methodologies, analytical plans, data collection instruments and effective technical procedures to guide value and cost for assigned projects
• Actively contributing to the successful achievement of all program objectives, grant and contract deliverables, data reporting activities and corresponding reports as identified in each contract Scope of Work through proactive collaboration and coordination with CLIENT’s Health Services staff and Executive and Functional Leadership
• Conducting Total Cost of Care (TCOC) analysis and designing tools to measure improvement in value based on processes and clinical outcomes
• Actively engage in strategic planning for programs and grants to inform data objectives and deliverables
• Other duties within CLIENT, as assigned
• This is a partial remote position with some time regularly required in the CLIENT office

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university program in biostatistics, statistics, research and analytics, data science, business intelligence, health services research, public health or related field
• Knowledge of advanced analytical techniques and proficiency with the use of statistical tools and software packages, such as MS Excel, MS Access, SQL, MySQL, CSV, SAS, R, Tableau
• Advanced computer skills, including experience in specialized computer software and the ability to utilize more advanced functions, formulas and other special elements of the specific programs
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, multitasking, time management and critical thinking skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills and a track record of building innovative, creative and collaborative teams
• Strong ability to be a positive contributor and work effectively in a team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university program in biostatistics, statistics, research and analytics, data science, business intelligence, health services research, public health or related field
• The equivalent of two years of full-time experience in a healthcare-related environment with roles requiring emphasis on research methods, data analysis, data report preparation, and PC-based statistical applications strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency with advanced analytical techniques and proficiency with statistical software packages, such as MS Excel, MS Access, MS SQL, SAS, R, Tableau
• Experience with healthcare Practice Management Systems and Healthcare Information Systems such as Epic, Cerner, Centricity, Allscripts, NextGen
• Demonstrated experience in quality and/or performance improvement data collection, validation and analysis strongly preferred
