TITLE:             Set Up & Run Operator 
 
 POSITION OVERVIEW:
 
To work safely and efficiently, ensuring set-up schedule and production standards are achieved.  It is expected that there is a commitment for never ending improvements and a positive relationship to fellow employees and supervisors.
 
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
 Grade 12 education or equivalent and work experience of 2 years in the automotive industry
A working knowledge (written and verbal) of English
Tool and Die Setter with minimum 2 years’ experience operating power presses
Able to work in various locations within the Press Shop
Physically capable of performing other essential duties of the job
Must be familiar with lockout and safety procedures
Must be proficient in the operation of punch presses, feeders, various measuring equipment, all tools required for press set-up electronic data collection systems
 
RESPONSIBILITIES / EFFORTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
 Pre-shift safety check,
Pre-shift quality check (first off, in process & last off)
Complete set up responsibility including feeder and Coil changes
Quality documentation forms (control cards)
Quality of product produced
Record keeping forms (production sheets, lot traceability using Funnel Cloud and production entry.
Correctly tag product produced (Bar Code Labeling)
Fulfillment of production standards, (SPM cycle times)
Work within the guidelines of the Employee Handbook
May require additional training (First Aid, Forklift, Crane)
IATF 16949-2016 awareness and adherence
MAFACT and 5S awareness and adherence
Communicate with following shift operator (tagging, problems, etc.)
Generate work orders as required
Flexible breaks as required
Team Player
Commitment to continuous improvement and work place safety
Other duties as may be required
