Description: Our client is looking for a Service/Repair Technician for their location in Richmond.



They require an experienced, responsible, punctual, mechanically inclined person to assist with repairs in their service department on equipment used in the carpet cleaning, fire and flood restoration industry such as truck mount units, vacuums, dehumidifiers, water pumps, small engines, pneumatic hand tools, etc.



Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Assessment of equipment for the purpose of providing repair quotes
Communicate effectively with customer regarding repair quotes, approvals and timelines
Work co-operatively and support all internal partners (Operations, CSR, Inside and Outside Sales Teams)
Approved repair and maintenance of customer or company owned equipment
Check out/check in, clean and maintain rental equipment following company operating procedures
Work collaboratively with sales/operations team to set up equipment demonstrations
Handle customer calls and visits on-site to troubleshoot or repair equipment
Maintain all open service work orders
Maintaining a clean and organized work area
Assist in warehouse duties when needed
Participate in emergency (night/weekend) on call rotation with branch team
Qualifications:

2 plus years experience, proven self starter/motivated and team player
Knowledge in the abatement, restoration, construction or general safety industries would be an asset
Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
Must be able to work in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
Repairing and troubleshooting mechanical systems and knowledge of small engines
Hydraulics trouble shooting
Wiring and electrical experience preferred
Ability to disassemble machinery and reassemble to working order
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with no moving violations in the last two years.
First Aid Training, Current Fork Lift License are an asset
