Description: As part of the executive management team, the Plant Manager will report directly to the President.
The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of the plant processing operation including scheduling, processing, personnel, Health and safety, shipping/receiving, quality and food safety and maintenance. Specializing in both general management and project management, the Plant Manager will be responsible for managing, directing and coordinating overall plant operations

Main responsibilities:
• Executing business strategies by creating or improving processes and procedures to improve corporate performance and reduction of operating costs
• Develops, recommends, and implements Capital Improvement for plant, including the preparation and execution of a Capital Plant budget.
• Responsible for preparing and executing the plant overhead budget, and direct product cost targets
• Monitoring financial performance to ensure the department is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment
• Create, Analyze and report on the daily, monthly and annually department's key performance indicators and industry trends
• Accountable for production costs, labour utilization, yield, results of Operations Cost Improvement initiatives
• Meet or exceed customer service level targets through the synchronization of process/activities with all functional area processes, from demand planning through to the delivery to the customer.
• Manage the performance of the hourly and salaried team through effective implementation of Human Resources processes and policies
• Maintaining a strong safety culture and monitoring safety processes/training to meet Health and Safety targets.
• Monitoring departmental performance against goals to ensure that progress is being met
• Ensures adherence to the Company’s Food Safety requirements and Food Manufacturing practices, including the completion of CFIA audit targets.
• Maintains and applies knowledge through compliance with CFIA, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Environment, Health and Safety and other legislative bodies that impact plant performance.
• Responsible for adherence to all policies and procedures for Quality Assurance, Food Safety and customer specifications on a day to day basis.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legislation and codes in all areas of plant including WSIB, HACCP, WHMIS, Workplace H&S and quality standards
• Oversee the plant facilities and equipment through implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain and build a productive and positive employee relations environment through effective implementation of positive employee relations initiatives.
• Providing direct oversight and effective leadership for the operations management team including production, maintenance, scheduling, quality, safety and logistics along with a strong connection to both finance and human resources
• Managing the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers
• Assist in hiring plant personnel including terminations and performance management
