Description: Our client, a global manufacturer of controls systems for the transportation and rail industries require a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer.

Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting Electrical/Electronic suppliers, leading APQP initiatives on product launches and significant product changes, as well as leading manufacturing and engineering teams through 8D problem solving.

Essential Functions:
•Perform Quality and Process audits at suppliers to assure quality systems and manufacturing processes are aligned with requirements for procured material.
•Participate in drawing reviews to ensure suppliers are provided know how and understand requirements to assure successful product realization.
•Participate in developing and / or review of PFMEA's, control plans, inspection plans, and test plans to ensure adequate controls on production are in place to ensure seamless integration of purchased products into production. This position is lead approver and developer for supplier quality plans.
•Use company quality and productions systems to manage, track, improve, document product quality during product realization. Ensure documentation presented for internal / external reviews is complete and organized.
•Support the development of achievable product realization plans. Track and report progress on Product realization.
•Work as a member of a team to realize cost reductions, product introductions, and quality improvements.

• 3-5+ years within and manufacturing Supplier Quality engineering role
• Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering or technical discipline
• Proficiency conducting Quality and Process Audits, PFMEA’s, APQP, 8D, GD&T, Root Cause Analysis etc
• This position requires experience with PCBA’s, Wire Harnesses, Black boxes
• Knowledge and understanding of IPC standards and quality system standards (ISO-9001 / AAR-M1003)
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency with Office and Business Software
